The HID lights are the same in appearance as the halogen lights, and they draw the same amount of wattage.  The considerations of HID are as follows:

They are VERY bright, three times brighter than halogen.

Each light requires a ballast.  The ballast dimensions are below, they are about the size of a pack of cigarettes.  You will need to locate the ballasts within 20 inches of the lights.  That is how much lead there is and it can not be altered in any way.  Don’t try it!  23,000 volts go through the leads.
